A success for Burnham’s first charity networking event

30 March 2017

On Thursday 23 March Community Impact Bucks (CIB) chief executive, Nick Phillips, facilitated a successful networking event for charities in Burnham, giving them the opportunity to find out more about each other and where they could share resources to have the biggest impact for their beneficiaries.

The event, which attracted over 50 different charities and community groups from the Burnham area, was arranged by local community organisers Shirley Shaw and Bruce Snelling who approached CIB for help.  As part of our mission to join up the sector, Nick was able to support this initial event helping the group identify their common themes and where they could work together to address them.

Nick said, “This event was a great success and from our lively discussions we established that a need for more volunteers and networking opportunities were two of the biggest challenges for the groups to address.  The services we offer at CIB can help them tackle these and I’m sure the groups will carry on to build on the momentum they created on the night.”

The group will meet again in June to follow up initial discussions and agree their next steps.
