Charity Digital Skills Report & Digital Toolkit

25 May 2017

Last month Skills Platform released their Charity Digital Skills Report and Charity Digital Toolkit giving much needed advice and inspiration to the voluntary, community and charity sector.

The Charity Digital Skills Report shows that 50% of charities don't have a digital strategy but 68% think that the charity sector will have changed to a great extend in ten years as a result of digital innovation.  Lack of skills, lack of funding, infrastructure and organisational culture are all identified as barriers.

Yet the opportunities for using digital are also evident; there are vast opportunities for digital fundraising, developing competitive advantage, staying relevant and in touch with your audience, and attracting the highest calibre members of staff.

Digital is increasingly the preferred choice for people as they go about their daily lives and charities should consider this in their interactions with donors, beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders.  The Charity Digital Toolkit will help charities develop their digital offering. The toolkit is split into easy to access chapters on topics including social networks, digital marketing, digital fundraising, governance and risk, and includes case studies and top tips.

The reports are free to download.

Don't forget our Digital Journey conference on October 5th - inspiring speakers, interactive breakout sessions and lots of practical tips on how you can make the most of digital.
