Training on bereavement support for children and young adults

An introductory workshop is for professionals who work with children and young people and would like to develop their knowledge and skills in bereavement.

In collaboration with Child Bereavement UK widen your knowledge and skills of bereavement to support for children and young people, and their parents/carers who are facing loss.

Learning outcomes

  • gain wider knowledge of loss, grief and bereavement
  • appreciate the importance of self-awareness in supporting others
  • relate theories of loss to our own and others’ experiences
  • identify approaches to support children and young people, and their parents/carers
  • gain an insight into the importance of endings and what needs to be considered when ending the supportive relationship
  • recognise the importance of looking after ourselves and and identify ways of supporting ourselves
