Hazel Finney

Hazel is the Lead for Volunteering at Community Impact Bucks, and is responsible for supporting voluntary, community and commercial organisations in Buckinghamshire with their volunteering needs, and promoting volunteering throughout the county. Hazel gives advice and training on all aspects of volunteering, and manages Volunteering Bucks, the dedicated volunteering recruitment portal. She leads on a wide variety of initiatives, including an exciting new project working with RAF High Wycombe, called Connecting the Community through Volunteering, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant. Hazel was previously Volunteering Adviser at CIB, and is looking forward to taking on this new challenge!  She manages a team of volunteers dedicated to supporting the broad range of volunteering services, and regularly blogs about different aspects of volunteering.

Hazel has experience of volunteering herself, having had previous involvement in specific assignments as a Specialist Skilled volunteer for CIB, the Chiltern Citizens Advice Bureau, and Auditory Verbal UK.  Prior to her move into the not-for-profit sector, Hazel worked in marketing communications’ positions for several multi-national companies in the technology, consumer electronics and environmental health industries, managing projects at both a strategic and tactical level. In addition to holding an MA in Marketing, Hazel is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and the Association of Volunteer Managers (AVM). Outside of work, Hazel plays her clarinet in various different groups in Buckinghamshire, and enjoys cooking, the theatre, and exploring the beautiful local countryside.
