Henley Business School Coaching Service

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Henley Business School, who are providing free coaching sessions for leaders in charities and community groups across Buckinghamshire.

Coaching is a 1-1 conversation which is facilitated by a coach, but is focused on the needs of the client (or coachee) with the objective of supporting them to become more self-aware, take more personal responsibility and through this to become more effective.  Coaching is helpful in supporting people resolve a wide range of challenges in their organisations like dealing with a person they find difficult, applying new skills and approaches, overcoming barriers and bringing about change.  The coach does not provide the answers, but provides a useful space to talk about an issue and support and challenge the coachee as they work out a solution.

Sessions with a coach generally last for an hour and a half to two hours and take place at Henley, via Skype or at a mutually convenient location.  Most coaches meet every 2-5 weeks and meet between 4 and 6 times but this will be down to the coach and coachee to agree.

Hannah, Wycombe Museum, Wycombe Heritage & Arts Trust, has recently started her coaching sessions with Henley Business School:

“My coach has been incredibly helpful. Her previous all-round experience in charity and business governance has been superb. I can only describe it as having a really skilled professional colleague who understands exactly what you are going through: she listens attentively and helps on the specific topic but, due to being great at stepping back, she has also encouraged me to look at the overall vision and strategy of my organisation.”

Community Impact Bucks also provides a tailored training and consultancy service to help tackle the issues you want to address including facilitating away days. For more information, click here.

Who is it for?

The coaching service with Henley Business School is for leaders of charities and community groups across Buckinghamshire.  You might be a trustee or committee member, chief executive, chair or other member of the senior management team.  This is a service for established organisations of any size.

The coaches

The coaches are participants undertaking a post-graduate programme at Henley.  As part of this, they are required to undertake a specified number of coaching hours and receive feedback from their coachees.  Most are individuals with up to twenty or thirty years of management experience and have already undertaken coaching with other clients.
