Village Halls Week 2025 – get involved

Community Impact Bucks is pleased to announce the return of Village Halls Week, running from  17-23 March 2025, in partnership with Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE).

This annual, national campaign highlights the vital role played by over 10,000 village halls across England in supporting rural communities. It’s a chance for hall management committees to showcase their achievements, share ideas, and find inspiration from others.

Spotlight on volunteers

With the theme of celebrating, encouraging, and supporting village hall volunteers, Village Halls Week 2025 recognises the hard work of the 80,000+ people who dedicate their time to keeping these valuable community spaces open and thriving. These volunteers take on diverse roles, from managing day-to-day operations and finances to organising events that bring people together.

How to get involved

During the week, village halls are encouraged to:

  • Host events – from coffee mornings to workshops, anything that celebrates the local community.
  • Share stories – post photos, videos, or messages on social media about the volunteers who make a difference in your area. Use the hashtag #VillageHallsWeek and tag @CommunityImpactBucks to join the conversation.
  • Be inspired – connect with other halls, learn from their experiences, and explore new ideas for your own community.

Free resources for village halls

To help your hall take part, a range of free resources is available including a Village Halls Week logo, top tips for getting involved, editable posters, images for your website and social media, and a template letter for writing to MPs.

A dedicated page is available on ACRE’s website, where village hall groups can register their interest, access these resources, and stay updated. To download the resources, visit the ACRE website.

Join ACRE’s centenary celebrations

As part of ACRE’s centenary celebrations, a new book, ‘Halls for All: A History of Village Halls’, will be published on 15 March 2025 to coincide with Village Halls Week. The book can be pre-ordered from major retailers or visit the publisher Amberley’s website.
