Volunteering made easier as national volunteering organisation partners with Community Impact Bucks

Last year over 175,000 people volunteered in Buckinghamshire alone, helping to deliver an estimated unpaid contribution of £225m per year to the UK economy. Marking the end of Volunteers’ Week 2018, Community Impact Bucks (CIB) announces its partnership with the Do-it Trust, the UK’s national volunteering database, ensuring that volunteering in Bucks has never been easier.

CIB’s website now features live streaming of the latest opportunities in the county on Do-it, enabling anyone interested in volunteering to find their ideal role.

There are vast opportunities to volunteer and make a difference to the community, many just down the road from you. Prospective volunteers can narrow down their search for roles in their local communities based on areas which are of interest, such as sport or politics, accounting or training.

Nick Phillips, CEO of CIB enthuses: “It’s the perfect partnership – we constantly look for ways to make it easier to volunteer so teaming up with Do-it seems a perfect step – matching potential volunteers with charities in Bucks or Nationally.”

Local charities, such as South Bucks National Osteoporosis Society Support Group, are already reaping the benefits of registering with Do-it. Rosie King, the Support Group’s treasurer, contacted CIB and registered with Do-it.org, resulting in Ian Holford stepping forward to take up the role. Ian was able to provide invaluable assistance to the group.

Rosie King, the Support Group’s Treasurer, said: “Ian has made a great difference. He is very able, flexible and really joins in – placing the details of the volunteer we needed on the Do-it website has really helped.”

For people looking to volunteer their professional skills, particularly as a trustee, CIB’s website also streams roles in Bucks from national partner Reach Volunteering, as well as the county’s latest trustee opportunities.

As the nationally accredited Volunteer Centre for Buckinghamshire, CIB provide a range of services to support volunteer-involving organisations and individuals looking to volunteer.
