BBC Children-in-Need Ex-Regional Head appointed as CEO at Community Impact Bucks

Katie Higginson, who was Head of BBC Children-in Need’s London & South East region, has been appointed as CEO at Community Impact Bucks. The charity promotes volunteering and provides advice and support to charities, voluntary and community groups and social enterprises across Buckinghamshire.

Katie comes to Community Impact Bucks (CIB) with extensive experience of the charitable sector through more than a decade of working for national funders. She started her career at the Football Foundation, before spending 8 years in a variety of roles at BBC Children in Need.

As Head of the London & South East Region for BBC Children in Need, Katie was responsible for over £40m worth of grants and worked in partnership with other charities and public sector bodies to tackle issues such as youth violence, and provide funds to support children affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Prior to that, she was responsible for grant-making performance across the UK as Head of Quality, Assurance and Risk at the charity.

“I am excited and honoured to have joined Community Impact Bucks as CEO. We’re in a time of enormous change for society, and it’s more important than ever to ensure we have resilient, connected communities. CIB provides vital support to charities and community groups across Buckinghamshire and enables people to get involved and make a difference. I look forward to building on this excellent work, and leading Community Impact Bucks into its 10th year and beyond.”

Katie will lead Community Impact Bucks, ensuring that the charity has the resources, partnerships and services needed to help organisations and communities improve the lives of people in Bucks.
