BOB VCSE Health Alliance Second Cross-Sector Meeting

Last week members of BOB VCSE Health Alliance met for the second time to progress the work of the Alliance and learn how national guidance is pushing forward VCSE presence in Integrated Care Systems.

The focus of member engagement centered on communication and information and how as a regional assembly, we share knowledge, best practice and approaches across our Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West members. Getting the right communication and information approaches will strengthen our voices and the way we influence at a system level.

Feedback from the session is resulting in us developing a members forum for information, knowledge and ideas to be shared. Quarterly Alliance meetings will continue with shorter agendas and more regular Q&A webinars will be established on relevant topics for our development.

First talk

The meeting welcomed Charlotte Owen, Health Partnerships manager, NHS England and Improvement to discuss how national guidance is aiding the maturity of ICSs to embed VCSE providers and partners, the slides for the presentation can be found here.

Second talk

Ben Spencer, Research Fellow of Built Environment and Healthy Ageing presented research undertaken by Oxford Brookes University on the lessons from the VCSE’s COVID response and collaboration between statutory organisations and how approaches from this period has lead to a series of recommendations for ICS / VCSE partnerships. This presentation can be found here.
