Five steps to being volunteer ready – Amersham workshop

Recruitment and retention of volunteers is seen as one of the greatest challenges faced by voluntary sector organisations in Buckinghamshire with over 35% stating it as one of their greatest challenges in the next three years, second only to funding.*

Perhaps you are looking to recruit volunteers but don’t know where to begin, or you have started to recruit volunteers but without formal planning?  Do you feel it’s time to revisit the way that your organisation tackles volunteer recruitment?

To help boost your volunteer recruitment activity, Chiltern District Council is hosting a free, interactive, masterclass led by Community Impact Bucks’ Hazel Finney, Lead for Volunteering. You will find out about the five key steps to take in order to prepare for taking on volunteers for the first time or to refresh an existing approach.

You will come away with a thorough understanding of everything that you need to have in place before taking on volunteers, and the tools and confidence to ensure that your organisation has a robust volunteering programme.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions, reflect on the current situation in your own organisation, and plan for the future, as well as networking with peers.

Who should attend?

Anyone responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers in Buckinghamshire (NB this event is open to all Buckinghamshire organisations and is not restricted to just those in the Chiltern District area)
